Advisory Board

Dr. M.P. Parameswaran

A social reformer and educationist, Dr. M.P. Parameswaran, has received two national awards, one for 'popularisation of science' and another for 'literacy campaigns'. He has written 29 popular science books in Malayalam and two in English on radioactivity, atomic science, astronomy, mathematics, political science, social science, ecology, etc. Articles written by him in various periodicals run to more than 300. He received Government of India awards for "Books for Neo-literates" in1962, "Basic and Cultural Literature" in 1964 and an Award for Children's Literature in 1982. MP, as he is popularly known is also a nuclear engineer who played a key role in the nuclear programme of India in its infancy and an outstanding contributor to scientific research and education of the masses in India.

Dr. T. Karunakaran

His status, as a social reformer, is generally considered on a par with veterans like Baba Amte, Aruna Roy and Medha Patkar. He was a member, along with Anna Hazare in the Gram Swaraj Committee of Madhya Pradesh, similar one for Panchayat Empowerment in Maharashtra, Executive Council of the Association of Commonwealth Universities and advisory body of Flensburg University, Germany. He has also served as the Director of Mahatma Gandhi Institute for Rural Industrialisation, Vice Chancellor of Gandhigram Rural University, Vice Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot Rural Development University, etc. His innovations include the TECHNORACY module to empower SHG groups of Women and the AGRINDUS model of value addition to agricultural products.

Dr. K.V. Peter

Dr K.V. Peter is concerned about the development of technology for the uplift of the agricultural community that is the backbone of Indian economy. He has been associated with the development of several varieties in tomato, brinjal, chilli, bitter gourd, snake gourd, oriental pickling melon, amaranth and cowpea. He has worked as Vice-Chancellor, Kerala Agricultural University during 2001-2006. In recognition of his achievements, he has received Dr Harbhajan Singh Award (1993), Rafi Ahmed Kidwai Award (1996-1998), Silver Jubilee Medal and Memento (1998), Dr. M.H.Marigowda National Award (2000), National Award for Processing and Product Development,DBT (2003), HSI-Shivasakthi Lifetime Award of HIS (2008) and The PNASF National Gold Medal Award for Best Scientist (2009). He has written several books and several universities have honoured him with fellowships.

Dr. Ravindra Pastor IAS

Dr. Ravindra Pastor is an IAS officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre, who, while working as Rewa Commissioner, got World Bank's prestigious South Asia Vice-President Team Award for District Poverty Initiatives Programme (DPIP) for outstanding work in anti poverty programme while he was Project Coordinator of the DPIP. The award was presented to him during a ceremony in Washington DC on February 10, 2010.

Dr. R. Sajith Kumar, MD, PhD, who leads the team, is Professor and Chief of Infectious Diseases at Government Medical College, Kottayam in Kerala. He is also the National Trainer on Physicians' Training on AIDS from 1991under the WHO/NACO task force in the National AIDS Control Programme of Government of India, State Nodal Officer for Leptospirosis New Initiative (NICD) of Government of India, Site Administrator & Nodal Officer, Tele-Medicine Project of Kerala State Government & ISRO, etc and works as Convenor and member of several other Councils and Committees. He was also the Editor of "AIDS NEWS", Technical bimonthly newsletter published by the Kerala State AIDS Control Society from 1996 to 2003,
